Makeup trends will come and go but in my opinion, a smokey eye is the sexiest look you can rock. Smoldering eyes paired with a neutral lip will never fail. It goes with almost any going-out outfit and it can be tweaked in so many different ways to suit your mood.
I wanted to do a smokey eye that had a touch of glitter. I had purchased a beautiful glitter called "Golden Fairy" from Violet Voss and I couldn't wait to try it out. I started off with a dark brown smokey eye but it looked a little blah so I added a little bit of "Blue Brown" pigment from Mac on top. I looooove the duo-chrome finish of this pigment. It took this look to a whole new level. MAC pigments are super-pricey especially since you need an itty-bitty amount because it will go a long way. I reccomend buying sample sizes. My favorite place to buy sample-sized MAC pigments and glitters is The Body Needs 2. They sell authentic MAC products and they have a wide variety. Pigments, glitters and even the paint pots and lipsticks. Another place to go is Makeup Geek, though the selection is not as vast as the former.
I added "Golden Fairy" glitter to my lower lash line and I feel that it complemented the overall look really well. I added a photo with no flash below; since it didn't show up well when I was snapping full face pics.
