I usually wash my brushes with baby shampoo but sometimes when I'm doing my makeup. I like using the same brush for 2 different things. I wanted something that would disinfect and clean my brushes quickly. I heard about the MAC brush cleaner but I wanted something cheaper. I didn't want to go around testing different drugstore brush cleaners so I decided to search online for a recipe to make a homemade version. After googling, I found this great YouTube video with instructions on how to make it here. The result? Soft, clean brushes in an instant!
1 cup distilled water
1/4 cup alcohol (70% or 90%)
1/2 tablespoon dishwashing liquid (One that comes with moisturizing agents is even better)
1/2 tablespoon shampoo ( I use baby shampoo)
1 tablespoon leave-on conditioner
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Stir carefully to avoid making suds. Pour into an atomizer and voila! Instant brush cleaner!
